• The Fourth Annual Casual Connect Autumn Conference will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine from October 21-23, 2009. As a platinum sponsor of the event, Alawar Entertainment will be hosting several roundtables and other discussions.

  Alawar General Director Alexander Lyskovsky will open the conference at 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 21 with his keynote speech, titled " The State of the Casual Games Industry in 2009: Market Trends and Opportunities." Lyskovsky will analyze the events that changed the casual games industry during the past year and talk about the opportunities for the development of the industry moving forward.

  At 4:00 p.m. on the same day, Tatiana Chernova, Alawar's director of marketing, communications and PR, will host a uniquely structured roundtable titled " Reverse Thrust: Discover Your Consumer." The usual players will be taking part in the roundtable. Chernova is inviting all conference participants to attend.

  The round table "Game Design: Made in the Former USSR" will take place on Oct. 22 at 3:30 p.m. Evgeny Sokolov, director of Alawar Five-BN, will be participating along with Oleg Rogovenko (Awen Studio), Anton Rybakov (Joybits), Egor Elovikov (Playrix) and Denis Ilyin (Artogon). Alexander Bessonov (Floodlight Games) is scheduled to lead the discussion.

  On Oct. 23 at 3:00 p.m., Kirill Plotnikov, vice-president of publishing at Alawar, will give a presentation titled "Simple Rules of Casual Games Publishing." Plotnikov will talk about the best ways to work with a publisher, whether experimenting with new mechanics and genres are worth the risk and the difficulties developers face when working on a new project.

  Alawar is also inviting all conference participants to visit its Company Stand (Platinum 3), where representatives of the company's sales and licensing departments will be meeting with publishers, distributors and game developers. Conference participants will also have the opportunity to discuss business opportunities and receive consultation from any Alawar staff member, including the company's general director, its producers, its director of marketing, communications and PR and more.
