On April 20, the GDC Awards ceremony was held as part of KRI 2008, the largest Russian event dedicated to computer games. Currently, this is the only award given by the Russian game development community to projects, individuals and companies for achievements and innovations in the game development area. This year’s award in the "Best casual game at GDC 2008" category went to Farm Frenzy, an exciting arcade game with elements of economic strategy developed by Melesta and published by Alawar Entertainment.

A new exposition, the EAAPA (Eurasian Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions), will take place at the Crocus Expo, an international exhibition center in Moscow, from March 24-26, 2008. Alawar Entertainment and Smart Games will present their joint project, Casual Kiosk, a game machine based on PC hardware and built to run casual games.
