Casual Connect: Kyiv was organized by the Casual Games Association, a professional trade organization founded to facilitate a healthy and stable global casual games industry. The event took place October 22-24, 2008. About 600 professionals from more than 170 companies and 24 countries attended the conference. As a platinum sponsor, Alawar Entertainment was an active participant.

Continuing a tradition started after KRI in May, Alawar Entertainment has published another issue of the Russian language newspaper, "Casual Truth 2.0." This edition covers the Casual Connect: Kyiv conference held in October, and features notable people and games from the casual games industry.

Alawar Entertainment, a leading publisher of casual games, today announced the formation of two in-house development divisions resulting from newly established relationships with a pair of independent studios: Russia-based Friday's Games and Ukraine-based Five-BN. Alawar has signed an agreement with each company to create a joint venture with Alawar as the majority shareholder. As a result of these additional partnerships, Alawar now boasts five in-house development divisions.
